“Fragile Situation” Farmer Reflects On Brexit’s Impact Four Years On

Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones discusses Brexit’s impact on the Welsh farming industry on the fourth anniversary since the UK officially left the European Union. It was on 31st January 2020 when Boris Johnson declared he’d finally got Brexit done, hailing it as “an astonishing moment of hope”. The Brexit vote took place on June 23, 2016, and it was a historic referendum in which British citizens were asked whether the UK should remain a member of the EU or leave. The decision to hold the referendum was a result of growing calls for a reevaluation of the UK’s relationship with the EU, particularly within the political context of the Conservative Party.
