Debussy - Symphony in B minor (1880)

Debussy composed this Symphony in B minor when he was 18 years old. The manuscript (for piano duet) survived in Russia. It was first published in 1933, and it was later orchestrated by the American composer and arranger Tony Finno. It is played here by the Orchestre National de Lyon, conducted by Jun Märkl. On the picture, Debussy is sitting on the floor, next to Pyotr Danilchenko (a violoncellist) and Ladislas Pachulsky (a violinist), both friends of Nadezhda von Meck, Tchaikovsky’s devoted sponsor.
