Dangerous climb to the “Church in the Sky“: Abune Yemata Guh. | Ethiopia vlog

I traveled to the Tigray region in Northern Ethiopia to make the dangerous climb to a monastery in the Gheralta mountains, called Abune Yemata Guh. It is one of the most inaccessible and hardest churches to get to. We traveled with @worldsunethiopiatours7029 to Abuna Yemata Guh, a church in the sandstone cliffs, over 8000 feet in the air. There is a priest who makes the climb every single day and he was there to show us the inside of the church. You first have to hike for 40 minutes up the the natural rocks steps, until you reach a point where you have to take off your shoes and climb the rest straight up and barefoot. It was one of the scariest things I have ever done, but I am so happy I did it. This place is magical and very spiritual. Along the journey, we visited the oldest mosque in Africa, ate traditional Tigrayan food, and met great Tigrayan people.
