Ukraine Downs 21 UAVs, Russia Thwarts Neptune Missile, Putin Vows To Support Fallen Troops’ Families

The Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 21 UAVs out of 28 launched on the night of January 6-7, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. Russian forces thwarted five attempts of the Ukrainian forces to rotate troops in the south Donetsk area. Russian Defence Ministry said its air defences destroyed six Ukrainian Neptun anti-ship missiles over the northwestern part of the Black Sea. Russian forces repelled two counterattacks in the Donetsk area and repelled another counterattack in Kupyansk. At least 11 people, including five children, were killed by a Russian missile attack in and around the eastern Ukrainian town of Pokrovsk\. Russian President Vladimir Putin paid tribute to Russian servicemen at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo on January 6. Polish farmers agreed to suspend their border blockade at the Shehyni-Medyka crossing after reaching an agreement with government representatives.
