Vladimir Putin’s Reign In ONE MINUTE #shorts #history #putin

Vladimir Putin rose to power in Russia through a series of strategic moves and circumstances. Putin was Initially appointed as Prime Minister in 1999 by President Boris Yeltsin where he gained popularity for his strong stance on security issues. When Yeltsin unexpectedly resigned, Putin became the Acting President in 1999, followed by his election as President in 2000. He campaigned on promises of stability and economic reform and won the election. Because of the constitutional term limit, Putin couldn’t run for the election of 2008. So, when he came back as president in 2012, he consolidated his power through political and institutional reforms, centralizing authority, and curbing opposition. He also amended the constitution in 2020 to reset the number of terms he has served, giving him until 2036 to rule over Russia. Throughout his rule, Putin has faced both support and criticism while maintaining control over the government, media, and institutions.
