This is a clip from a concert shown on German TV in 1998. Even after all he has gone through, Peter Green still has magic in his fingers. The piece was written by Peter and first recorded while with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in the sixties. The original recording of this groundbreaking instrumental can be found on the album “A Hard Road“. If you’re new to Peter Green, and you like what you hear on this track, I suggest you listen to all of his work with the band Fleetwood Mac, which he founded in 1967 and stayed with until 1970. During this period they played some of the best British blues and blues rock ever recorded. But Peter Green is not only a unique guitarist and an accomplished songwriter (with songs such as “Black Magic Woman“ to his credit), in those days he was also an outstanding vocalist - just listen to tracks like “Stop Messin’ Round“ or, in an entirely different vein, “Man Of The World“.
