How can you tell that the cost of healthcare in the United States is too high, even for individuals with health insurance? Well, consider that, according to a recent Gallop poll, a full 38 percent of Americans report delaying getting medical care in 2022 because they could not afford it. This sort of thing simply doesn’t happen in other wealthy countries with universal healthcare, and yet there is virtually no movement in Congress or at the White House to address this substantial systemic problem.
