201 rats destroyed for a livestock farm. RATTING.

Fast and furious action this morning! Got a midweek message from a farmer ‘pigs are out Friday and we need to clear the rats’ Great news, jiggled the ratting diary about and a small team headed to have a look at the new venue. We started in the bales, although they were clean looking and we didn’t expect many rats to come out. The dogs told us different. Noses pushing between the bales we had to move them. The barn exploded with action, with each bale moved the dogs either pushed harder into the gaps or cleared up the rats that were disturbed in the process. These rats put up a massive fight and catching them in such close quarters has left all the dogs with some war wounds. After we (and more importantly the dogs) had a drink and a bite to eat we moved to a ditch line and flushed rats from between roots and under a fallen tree. We finished off around the shed and found 13 in a very tight run together. Loved getting the 8 months old pup out who was marking, catching and killing by herself. Not bad for a ver
