Introducing Miss Tea Cosy (1931)

Making a tea cosy from a broken doll, cotton voile, padding, lace and ribbon. C/U of a woman cutting fabric. She places some padding between layers of fabric and sews together. Then a dolls head and upper torso is attached to the padded fabric. A “skirt“ is placed over the dolls head and sewn in place. A shawl is made and a ribbon placed around the waist of the doll. The woman who has made the tea cosy sits and pours herself a cup of tea with the doll sitting on the table beside her. She then places the cosy over the teapot. Kitsch! Nicely shot film of a woman’s craft work. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
