Can You Whistle - In Your Throat? (1931)

Introductory intertitle reads: “Meet Jean Margaret Henderson, (A little ten-year-old prodigy from Hull) who can!“ M/S of a blonde girl standing in front of a piano in a studio setting. She is quite posh and says “I am the little girl who whistles in her throat. Now first of all I will give you a few imitations of bird whistles. The Thrush“ - she makes some squeaky noises. “The Starling“ - some more bird impersonations. “Cuckoo“ - she impersonates the Cuckoo’s call. She then announces “An old favourite ’Love’s Old Sweet Song“ and proceeds to whistle the tune. She sways from side to side with her hands clasped in front of her as she performs the song. At the very end she does a little curtsy. Quite quirky. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
