How aggressive are opossums?

Obviously, and as stated in the video I do not recommend you do this. I never try to push the assertion that they will never bite, thus the reason I’m wearing welding gloves. They just aren’t likely to bite in my experience. The point of this video is to disprove that they are inherently viscous. This myth is responsible for many opossums being killed needlessly by people who might otherwise do differently if they only understood them better. Decided at the last minute to make a quick video demonstrating how non aggressive opossums really are. Their reputation really is undeserved. This opossum was no anomaly, every one we catch demonstrates the same behavior. Not to say they cannot become aggressive entirely, but the general population seems to have made a blanket assertion about all opossums being highly aggressive, filthy, and rabid, when this is just untrue.
