Create a Microworld Photo Manipulation in GIMP

In this GIMP tutorial, I show you how to create a 3D Isometric Map design using a landscape photo (you can use any aerial photo, including a photo from Google Earth, a stock photo, or one you took yourself). I use an isometric grid to place various photos in a 3D perspective environment, creating the illusion of a 3D cube containing a chunk of earth. Download the Isometric Grid File Here (it is a native GIMP .XCF file): This is a really great photo manipulation effect that can be easily accomplished by photo editors or graphic designers of all skill levels. You do not need to purchase any software, photos, or plugins to accomplish this effect. Everything is done using the default version of GIMP, which is free software.
