He grew up in a family of musicians and artists; his father and brother played the drums. Immersed in music from an early age, Brian began playing cello in elementary school, and began his career as a drummer at the age of thirteen, then picked up the bass in junior high. Brian’s first big break came in 1979, when he joined the Stan Getz quintet. At just 19 years old, Brian spent nearly a year touring internationall
