The Balenciaga Haute Couture collection was the most discussed Haute Couture collection of the year 2022. Demna’s second Balenciaga Haute Couture collection saw a moving away from exclusively paying homage to the brand’s founder Cristobal Balenciaga, but through it, he has expanded on Balenciaga’s original works for a modern age. The most controversial aspect pf the show was having celebrities like Dua Lipa, Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, & Christine Quinn walk down the runway which was seen as tacky and gauche. And to a degree, I agree, but I think there is a deeper business reason for doing it.
