A magnitude 7.6 earthquake hits the Philippines! Tsunami threat for the entire region!

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred off the coast of Mindanao in the Philippines. Several countries in the region have issued tsunami warnings. The epicenter was located in the sea at a depth of 32 km. Tsunami waves are expected to hit the southern Philippines and parts of Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan. Given the strength of the earthquake, the height of the waves can be up to 3 meters. There were no initial reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake. Property damage is possible in areas close to the epicenter. Power outages are also possible. It may take several hours before authorities can conduct a comprehensive damage assessment, especially in remote areas. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said aftershocks are expected in the near future.
