China releases new videos to expose provocative moves of US warships in South China Sea

Three short videos revealing the provocative and dangerous moves of hostile nature by US warships and aircraft were released by China Central Television’s social media account Yuyuan Tantian on Saturday. The first video shows that on August 19, 2023, the USS Ralph Johnson destroyer dangerously interfered the normal training of Chinese naval vessels in the South China Sea. The Chinese navy issued a stern warning to prevent the US destroyer from coming near and disturbing the Chinese naval formation. The second video shows that on March 23 and 24, 2023, USS Milius destroyer continuously invaded China’s territorial waters off the Xisha Islands. The Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army organized naval and air forces to follow up, monitor and expel them with warning in accordance with law. The third video shows that on December 21, 2022, a US Boeing RC-135 aircraft carried out deliberate close-in reconnaissance over the South China coast and the Xisha Islands. The Chinese pilot handled the incident in accordance with laws and regulations and resolutely defended national sovereignty and maritime rights and interests. Chinese National Defense Ministry spokesman Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang on Friday denied the accusation by the United States of “harassment of aircraft“ in the airspace over the South China and the East China Sea, charging that it is the United States that always makes unfounded charges and hypes up the so-called “China military threat“. Zhang made the statement at a press conference in Beijing in response to US defense officials accusation on Tuesday of Chinese military jet fighters conducting a “centralized and concerted campaign of harassment of aircraft“ against the US and its allies in the airspace over the East China Sea and South China Sea since 2021. The root cause of the maritime and aerial security issues between China and the US lies in the fact that US military ships and aircraft have come from afar to provoke and stir up trouble at China’s doorstep, conducting long-duration, large-scale, and high-frequency reconnaissance harassment in China’s surrounding maritime and aerial areas, Zhang stressed. In the face of these provocative and hostile acts, China is forced to take necessary countermeasures, just like any other sovereign country would do. Facts speak louder than words, and it is the US side that is the real provocateur, risk-taker and disruptor, Zhang pointed out. The Chinese military always maintains a high level of alertness and resolutely defends national sovereignty, security and maritime rights and interests, the spokesman said. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
