The National, formed in Ohio and cultivated in New York City, have been one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last decade. Touring worldwide and releasing album after album of challenging, intricate music, they have steadily risen to become among the most prominent voices in modern rock. In Austin as one of the top featured acts at ACL Festival 2013, they were kind enough to stop at the Gibson Texas Showroom and perform a few key tracks from their fine new record Trouble Will Find Me, including “I Need My Girl“.
Matt introduced I Need My Girl as “a depressing love song“ before the Dessner brothers began playing it on two Gibson J-45 acoustic guitars.
