Israeli soldiers install barbed wire adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque

Two Israeli soldiers were seen installing barbed wire around the the Lions Gate area, also known as Bab al-Asbat, which is next to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The Jerusalem governor’s office state, “This is a dangerous precedent that has never occurred since 1967.” On Sunday night, Israeli forces prevented hundreds of Palestinians from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the first taraweeh, a special prayer held during the Islamic month of Ramadan.
