Palestinians celebrate return of prisoners in Israel-Hamas deal in West Bank

Hundreds of Palestinians celebrated the return of freed prisoners in the early hours on Sunday (November 26) in the West Bank. The Israeli authorities released 39 Palestinian prisoners, including six women, and 33 children, from two prisons as part of the second batch of the exchange deal with Hamas, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported early on Sunday. Under the deal between Israel and Hamas, Hamas handed over 13 Israeli hostages and four Thai nationals back to Israel on Saturday (November 25).
