Hamas video reveals intense ground war with Israel in Gaza

Egypt has renewed efforts to broker a deal between Israel and Hamas as attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea threaten to have a disastrous impact on its economy. The role of Egypt has been overshadowed by Qatar, which is home to Hamas’s top leaders, despite Cairo playing an ongoing part in talks, including those for the release of hostages. However, it has redoubled its efforts as the rerouting of ships away from the Red Sea has cut its income from the Suez Canal, one of its two key sources of foreign revenue. The other, tourism, has also been hit as many of its beach resorts, which are popular with foreign visitors, are also on the Red Sea.
