Bald-faced hornet hunting flies (WARNING: Contains Poo)

Have you ever seen these weird looking black and white hornets that like to hang out in your backyard? They are apparently called bald-faced hornets, and my wife and I noticed that they like to hang out on top of piles of fresh dog poo. I know hornets collect mud for nests and figured this guy was a tad confused but apparently they are way smarter than that. These things hang out on piles of poo and act like flies, then when flies come to join the feast, they try to snatch them up.
