Trees and Squirrels (Classroom Physical Activity Breaks)

Carlos Rodriguez and students of Rogers Street Academy demonstrate this simple movement activity which can help students with cooperation and teamwork. Grade Level: 2-5 Addresses Wisconsin Physical Education Standard 1: “Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities,“ and Wisconsin Physical Education Standard 5: “Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.“ Requires: no special equipment This video is shared as part of the Active Schools Initiative, which provides strategies to teachers and students for motivating students to be physically active outside of their physical education classes.
