「ロックマンX」Rockman X Playthrough (JP, English Translation) - Part 9, VAVA and Bospider

For the translation, be sure to turn on the captions! Once again, X1’s translation was done by keekiyasan. I took it from his personal blog since he allowed me to do so. Check the man out! I’m so sorry for this painful footage. This is my gaming skills at their worst. It will get better as the time goes on, however, so it will look a bit better in the next stage. This is the most difficult stage for me in X1. After speaking with Zero again, it starts and goes pretty much OK until the “jump on moving platforms above the bottomless pit and with a lot of flying enemies“ section. It’s not that hard with the right hands and Arm Parts, it even can be cheesed though (I’m not that skilled to pull up wall-jump dash and we’ll come back to it later), but it can be a nightmare without Arm Parts. Why the heck would you even get to this point without Buster Upgrade? Simple. But I’ll explain for those who don’t know this still later. Once you’re in the fortress, you can get as much damage as you want since you’ll get your HP restored to the max before the first actual boss battle here. We meet Zero who’s chasing VAVA, we go after him... and then hear how walking arsenal clobbers current commander of 17th Elite Unit. Even the music stops completely. That’s eerie. Turns out VAVA just stuffed Zero in the cage and now he’s (VAVA I mean) riding a Ride Armor. We all remember how did previous fight go, and when even Zero wasn’t able to do anything to this thing, will we be able to stop VAVA? X is much stronger now, so what’s the problem? VAVA upgraded his Ride Armor. . Even if it might seem you’re actually damaging the thing, it’s not true. I’ve showcased here that he’s still fuctioning even after being hitted with all arsenal I have (and trust me, Hadouken doesn’t work either. I can’t even use it too, since it’s really difficult to perform on a keyboard). Once we get paralysed, VAVA goes back to Zero’s cage and... starts to laugh? His Ride Armor starts to shake so I think he’s laughing. But then, Zero breaks out of the cage and destroys VAVA’s Ride Armor, sacrifising his well-being in the process. But that little purple moron turns out to be OK after all this, not even having a single scratch after armor blowed up with him inside. And after that, X has his “I’m not done yet\Have my revenge now“ moment, where his paralysis goes away and he restores all of his energy. VAVA is shocked to say the least, but it’s a fair one-on-one from now on. VAVA is weak to Homing Torpedo\Rolling Shield and he’s quite energetic in the battle. He’s not that difficult however, you can kill him without getting hit fairly easy (I got hit so much because I was panicking quite a bit and it was late evening, I was tired, but wanted to beat both X1 and IHX that single evening). We approach our dying buddy and it’s that scene I was talking about in the beginning. It has two variations. What I showed here is the first one. Second variant is if you get to Sigma Fortress without Arm Parts where Zero dies slower and decided to hand over his Arm Parts to X that... look and fuction exactly like First Armor’s. Sheesh, Wily. You’ve stolen this from Right too, didn’t you?.. I’ve recorded that scene by the way and you can see it in-full here: Zero disintegrates into thin aaaaair?.. and now there’s no turning back for us. We HAVE TO defeat Sigma as we now have out own motivation as the player (Maybe. Did people get attached to Zero so much when the game has just come out?). It works a bit better in the remake (yes, I said that) and this version still has some cliches, but it works fine. Then goes my lowest point in this playthrough with me trying to climb up. Skip it if you don’t want to destroy your braincells. I didn’t know first X games had this kind of boss refights. I though this was Zero-series’ thing or something. Our first opponent is Boomer Kuwanger. Be sure to still have Homing Torpedo energy left. After a stag beetle, our next opponent is... oh my God, that thing needs to burn to the ground, but only ice works here. Bospider is a ton of... problems. Here I’m being dumb because I could get rid of Petitpiders with Storm Tornado (like I did in IHX, but I sat down for that part after I was fully done with X1, but it seems Bospider spawns them a lot frequently here and even does so in the middle of moving on the web, which is no good). It’s weak to Shotgun Ice, yup. I needed to restore my HP during this fight, but I eventually killed it. After this, I went back to Armor Armarge’s stage to fill up my Sub-Tanks. If the game lets me do that, why can’t I? At least I’m not save-stating. #MegamanX #RockmanX #MegamanX1 #ロックマンX
