Migration and identity politics ’threatening’ the ’idea of Europe’
Sky News host Andrew Bolt discusses the wave of Islamic immigration into Europe, saying this new trend is threatening the identity and idea of Europe.
‘Because what we’re seeing in Europe right now, and increasingly in the Australia and the US too, is a reverse colonisation that - along with the rise of identity politics - is threatening Europe like it has not been threatened for centuries. Threatening the identity and even the idea of Europe,’ he said.
He says the push to elect extreme right-wing politicians in Europe is reflective of voters concerned about the mass Muslim immigration.
‘But let me show you the facts that explain why across Europe, anti-immigration politicians are suddenly winning elections, like Georgia Meloni in Italy and just last November the shock victory in the Netherlands or the anti-immigration, anti-Muslim Geert wilders – a shock in a country long famous for being so tolerant but now paying the price of opening its borders.’
