NANCY WILSON (Class + virtuosity) Jazz History #41
Nancy Wilson’s debut was auspicious. She scored a hit with her first single and recorded an album early in her career with Cannonball Adderley that has achieved iconic status, inspiring generations of young jazz singers. Over the course of five decades she displayed a vocal instrument that would be the envy of anyone, eventually rising to the status of elder statesperson, a position that she occupied with commanding grace and dignity.
