Israeli strikes returned with rocket fire in Khan Younis as Palestinians struggle to cope

Air strikes in Khan Younis are ongoing. As recently as 20 minutes ago, Israeli planes hit residential buildings in the eastern part of the city, and victims are streaming into already overstretched hospitals. In return, Palestinian fighters have been launching rockets at Israeli settlements during this round of fighting from the south of the Gaza Strip. All of this takes place against the backdrop of the return of seasonal rains to Gaza, which has presented a new set of challenges for internally displaced Palestinians.
