You’ve probably never heard of this shoe. Meet the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3. Pumas latest offering in the carbon shoe arena. They’ve sent me these to talk about so let’s do that. The standout feature in this shoe is its responsiveness and lightweight design—it’s PUMA’s lightest ever Raceday shoe. It boasts a 40mm slab of NITROFOAM Elite for excellent energy return, complemented by a stiff carbon fibre PWR plate that ensures speed. Those are the specs, here is my review. I took these out for a spin at Parkrun on the weekend. The foam was very responsive and it gave a considerable kick. The shoe itself felt stable which is nice to have in carbon race day shoes. That same afternoon I was feeling pretty good so I took these out for a 10k tempo run, and once again I was impressed. I could see myself running a fast marathon in these given the solid balance achieved between stability and speed.
