1990s Critics Review Bill & Ted Video Games (Limited Run Games)

When I first saw that Limited Run Games was going to re-release two classic Bill & Ted titles on modern consoles, my initial reaction was: “Why?” I mean, these weren’t exactly beloved classics in desperate need of a revival, but hey, if people want to pre-order this weird compilation, then I’m not going to stand in their way. I chalked it up to being a fun novelty, the type of thing I would never think about again. But then Kyle LeClair from Hardcore Gamer all but dared me to post a Review Crew episode all about Bill & Ted, so here we are. To help celebrate (?) the upcoming physical release of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Retro Collection on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Switch, I was forced to flip through the pages of classic magazines like Electronic Gaming Monthly, Nintendo Power, GamePro and more to see what critics said about these games back when they first came out. Strange things are afoot at the Circle K, dude, because this is what 1990s critics thought of Bill & Ted.
