The project started as a Power/Gothic Metal band in late 2015 but after line up changes and internal problems, Erymanthon split up the band in late 2017, becoming the only mind behind the act. Apocalypse has since then adopted a more extreme sound, heavily influenced by the Swedish act Bathory, with the intention to tribute and remember Quorthon and carry on his musical legacy. Apocalypse has over time mixed in different influences and a personal touch into their music, while still giving a nod to their Bathory inspiration. Apocalypse is an act that refuses to wear any specific label or to follow any specific style, and they have proven this by covering a wide variety of styles over the years, going from Epic Metal to Black Metal, from Folk Ballads to Death Metal.
