DRAG RACING DIESEL TRUCKS! DURAMAX! POWERSTROKE! CUMMINS! ROLLING COAL! TRIBUTE RACE AT BYRON!

One thing about the diesel truck community is not only the love for everything diesel but love for one another! On a very hot June day they came together to support the memory of fellow diesel brother Jarrett Powell. Jarrett was a frequent diesel drag racer at Byron Dragway having competed just last October in his 2006 LBZ GMC Duramax truck appropriately named the “ORANGEBEAUT. Jarrrett was late son of Superior Automotive owner Marty Powell, who sponsored the event with all awards being presented bearing Jarrett’s name. Friends and families set up an area to showcase Jarrett’s truck along with commemorative tshirts. Friends congregated all day long, sharing stories and memories about the well loved young man. The atmosphere was unlike anything I’ve witnessed before in either of the yearly spring or fall events hosted by the Playground of Power Byron Dragway.
