A flower lonely standing amidst nothing but sand and more sand…
— Frigord the Weird
“Fleur du désert“ is an original composition based on the collaboration of four musicians and the convergence of ancient and modern musical instruments: the ancient lyre, the handpan, the ancient duduk, and the double bass.
It is a song dedicated to the desert rose, a special flower that blooms against all odds. It is considered a timeless symbol of strength and hope, with its story being lost in the mists of ancient tales. An ancient melody of secrecy and miracles, dedicated to this very tale.
Theodore Koumartzis plays on a LUTHIEROS Lyre of Orpheus, masterfully handcrafted for him in Greece by the LUTHIEROS family. Sandy Mango plays on a Sympan handpan, while Sokrates Votskos and Linos Tzelos perform on the ancient duduk and the double bass respectively.

⚪ Pausis ensemble; a secret form of communication
Pausis is an ancient-inspired ensemble focusing on improvising and creating music by combining ancient and modern musical instruments, including (but not limited to) the ancient lyre, the ancient bendir, the ancient duduk, and more. In a deeper meaning, pausis is an unobserved parallel form of expression behind the obvious, the unseen point where all obvious forms of communication (dialogue, sounds, gestures, writing) converge and become capable of expressing something higher than their sum.
Pausis is a necessary element for every kind of communication of verbal, artistic, stochastic music. With both philosophical and literal dimensions, friendship, love, time, life itself become ill at the moment when the internal dialogue ceases. In the space that is created, all becomes One.
