March 2023 - Hwy 168 - Clovis California - to Shaver Lake California. The recent and frequent California atmospheric rivers have caused a lot of road closures and financial suffering for those impacted by the rain, flooding, snow and road closures and landslides. I set out to see the small businesses of Shaver Lake California and support them by my patronage and to give some extra to help as much from my end since some have not opened for business in almost a months time since the major storm system began. Driving up looked like there was no snow to see, until a turn around the mountain and there we were. It is a depressing sight to take in of what the Creek fire has done just outside of Shaver Lake, in the Sierra National Forest. The Creek Fire was a large wildfire that started Sept 4th, 2020 near Shaver Lake California, and had become one of the largest fires in California’s 2020 wildfire season. The fire burned over 379k acres and was fully contained on Dec 24th, 2020.
