At Stormhaven Studios our focus is on gameplay that engages our players and immerses them in adventure with vast zones, realistic aesthetics, and mechanics that balance challenge, effort and player agency with quality-of-life features that don’t hold the player’s hand. In Embers Adrift you won’t find exclamation points above NPC heads, and there is no mini map. Instead, you’ll have to explore new areas and learn the landscapes as you piece together your map and seek out rare or hidden NPCs who may have quests for you. If you’re fed up with pay-to-win, microtransactions, loot boxes, and companies focusing on maximizing profits instead of player engagement, then come hang out with Stormhaven Studios and our community in Embers Adrift. We reject the pay-to-win/Cash Shop model and prefer to focus our attention on what is truly important - our players and our gameplay, not a digital storefront. MMORPG players don’t come to games to shop. We come to play. And so, we are using a subscription model that allows us to focus on continually developing new content for players to engage with instead of creating new ways to take their money. You support us with a subscription, we’ll provide new content on a steady schedule. And you won’t have to pay for new DLC every time. We hope to provide expansions in the future that include new systems, but we’ll include new gameplay content as part of the subscription. We don’t need to maximize profits; we just need player support to continue doing what we love - creating new engaging gameplay content to release - so you can continue doing what you love - playing MMORPGs!
