The human rights of intersex people must be respected and protected, 76 organisations tell the UN

In a joint statement at the 48th UN Human Rights Council, 76 intersex-led organisations from across the wold called on States to end harmful practices against intersex people as a matter of urgency. “Unless immediate action is taken and policies are implemented, severe human rights violations against intersex people will prevail and continue. This Council needs to send a strong message that such practices are in violation of international human rights norms and must not be tolerated.“
