’A Few’ and ’Few.’ - Learn English Grammar Online

Generally, ’few’ and ’a few’ are used with countable nouns to describe how many things are there. “A few“ says that the number, while small, is not zero and may not be very small. “Few“ says that the number is not as large as expected.
