My kick is fully sampled. My toms are sampled from my own toms and a blend of a sample, and my snare is blended with 2 different samples blended at ~80% with ~20% of my real snare. Why do I sample my kit? Because it sounds like shit. I have an 8 year old Pearl export kit that is beat up and has crappy heads, and missing some lugs that disable the ability to keep tuning for more than 10 minutes of playing.
