It reached #5 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #5 on the UK Singles Chart, and #6 on the US Cashbox Singles Charts.
The Outsiders were a sixties band from Cleveland, Ohio. They consisted of lead singer Sonny Geraci, guitarist Tom King, lead guitarist Bill Bruno, bassist Mert Madsen, and drummer Rick Baker. They would place four songs on the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Hot 100 Pop Chart during the course of their career and all would come in 1966. “Time Won’t Let Me“ was their best and biggest hit reaching number five during the first part of 1966.
It featured tight harmonies and a catchy beat to form just the right mix of pop and rock. They also used strings and some horns very effectively in their music. By the end of the decade they would be gone but they left behind “Time Won’t Let Me“ which is one of the better top 40 singles of the era.
