What is the contrasting perception individuals may have regarding their importance in the world? How does the wisdom of Kabbalah suggest perceiving oneself as the most impactful entity in reality? How can individuals consciously influence others and improve the world through their thoughts, actions, desires, and intentions?
What if it turns out that Mom was right, and you are actually the most important person in the world? If that were the case, it would align perfectly with our perception of ourselves in relation to others. Consider this: Which body do you feel most intimately connected to, so sensitive to its every need? Only your own. Whose safety and pleasure do you worry about first? Your own.
If we become attuned to how we are naturally wired to feel, we realize that, in comparison, everyone else in the world seems relatively unreal. Yet, at other times, or sometimes simultaneously, we may feel the opposite—that we are actually the most insignificant person in reality. Or, at the very least, equally irrelevant to all other individuals in the world who possess tremendous power and influence, compared to my limited ability to impact reality.
In terms of my capacity to affect others, I often feel relatively weak and insignificant, especially when considering the immense forces of nature, like the ocean or gravity. It seems that if I were to disappear right now, it wouldn’t take long before most people forgot about me. Unless, of course, I were to invent groundbreaking technology or initiate a revolution, but such scenarios are highly unlikely for the majority of us.
Thus, we remain a walking contradiction. On one hand, I feel exactly as my mom said, that I am the most important part of this entire reality based on my subjective experience. I feel my own organs and body’s warmth; I can pinch myself and feel the pain. However, when it comes to external objects—whether touching a wall, a fish, or a tree—I don’t feel what they feel. I can try to imagine it, but the only thing I truly feel is myself.
At the same time, unless I hold a position of great power, I perceive myself as relatively insignificant in terms of creating meaningful changes in the world. The wisdom of Kabbalah, however, teaches individuals how they can perceive themselves as the focal point, the most impactful entity in all of reality. Not in an egoistic manner, but in a way that positively influences the world through every thought and action.
Every particle of reality is interconnected with you—every fish, every tree, every rock, every planet, and every person. In this moment, your internal example through your thoughts, actions, desires, and intentions is influencing everyone like a hidden form of brainwashing. They unknowingly receive this internal example from you, which controls them from within. You can learn to do this consciously, but you need to understand the templates, the examples that you should be setting internally to influence others and improve the world.
By elevating everyone and the entirety of reality, you elevate yourself as well. One who accomplishes this perceives themselves as the center of reality, the one who profoundly influences it internally, and powerfully transforms reality. In doing so, they genuinely become the most important person in the world, just as they had always suspected.
