Joe Lewis met Bruce Lee in 1967 at a car park in Washington. They sparred on the spot and Joe Lewis became Bruce’s student after he was defeated. Unlike many other world champions or famous fighters who wouldn’t admit Bruce Lee actually trained them, Joe Lewis often said in interviews that Bruce Lee was his teacher, and he was Bruce Lee’s student. Joe Lewis is one of the best World Karate Champion and was once nicknamed “the Muhammad Ali of Karate”.
