First part of story missing. Intertitle reads “... then swiftly follows the dread news of loss of ill-fated M-2 with her complement of 54.“ (Earlier Library footage) Sailors walk along the hull of the M2 submarine as it floats at sea. Closer shot of the conning tower (M 2 sign clearly showing). A small motor launch is berthed alongside the submarine. The launch pulls away from the sub and officers on board salute. Intertitle reads: “Every resource in the Navy was quickly mobilised, and on the scene in the grim fight against time. (An Aerial View)“ L/S aerial views of two ships at sea (they are searching for the M 2 submarine which has sunk). More shots of different ships involved in the search. Closer aerial pass over one of the searching naval ships. Sound track missing. There appears to have been a shorter, silent version of this item in Gazette 1889. This is currently missing.
