A. Piazzolla Cafe 1930 from Histoire Du Tango, played by Chloe Chua (violin) & Kevin Loh (guitar)

Recording the Cafe 1930 with Kevin for the second time has brought back a lot of fond memory while I was preparing for the Menuhin Competition (Geneva) in 2018. I gave my debut recital in Singapore on 28 March 2018 as a warm up for the competition and this is one of the pieces that I played during then. I had received tremendous encouragement and support from the audience which had strengthened my confidence to participate in the competition. I am very grateful to Menuhin Competition for awarding me joint first prize and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the audience at my debut recital back then for their encouragement, as well as my Youtube Subscribers and viewers now for your continual support. Hope that you like this different interpretation of Cafe 1930 and please stayed tune for Nightclub 1960 which will be premiered next week same time on 18 Dec 2021. Cafe 1930 is another age of the tango. People preferred to listening rather than dancing to it. It became more romantic and intense in character, often adopting a slower tempo with melancholic harmonies. Tangos are sometimes sung as well.
