The story of this new album begins with the birth of the title track. Perfect Stranger embarked on the creation of this track in May of 2019, during what could be described as a creatively tumultuous period in his life. Juggling the demands of being a husband and father while frequently jetting off for weekend gigs around the world and perpetual jetlag left him feeling consistently overwhelmed. Amidst these circumstances, he found himself grappling with doubts about his musical prowess. The question of his ability to produce music or engage in any creative pursuits loomed large during this phase. Come mid-March 2020, the onset of the Covid Pandemic forced the track back into a metaphorical drawer, where it would remain for yet another year. Fast-forward to September 2021, and he found himself unearthing and ultimately completing the project within the same month. These developments were further intertwined with a substantial overhaul of his studio setup. Yet, this marked the beginning of the journey of truly understanding his studio environment, and fully exploiting its potential. This process, a trajectory that spans a year or more, gradually unveiled itself alongside the creative process of the album. The composition of the album unfolded in stages, fueled by Yuli’s determination to connect with his enduring creative capabilities. The yearning for fresh Perfect Stranger music and the timing of this venture were additional driving forces. Throughout his journey as Perfect Stranger, Yuli has consistently gravitated towards particular sample choices. These selections are marked by a preference for enigmatic, somewhat somber yet hopeful speeches and phrases. These snippets, imbued with inspiration, meditation, and a deeper meaning, contribute to the overarching narrative of his music - a manifestation of trance with a profound purpose. It was during one of his wife’s sessions in the kitchen, where she listened to her favored inspirational speakers while preparing meals for her delivery service, that he encountered the specific sample that would profoundly impact the title track and overall core of the album. This serendipitous moment marked the inception of the “Broadcasting and Receiving“ Album journey within the track. In essence, Perfect Stranger’s creative odyssey over the years, marked by setbacks, growth, and unforeseen influences, is encapsulated within the album’s title track. It serves as a testament to the intricate interplay of personal experiences and artistic expression, a true reflection of the multifaceted nature of music creation.
