100 arrested during immigration protest in Manhattan, where they closed down West Side Highway

August 10, 2019 - West Side Highway and 26th Street. Abolish ICE protesters poured onto the West Side Highway from both sides and blocked the north and southbound lanes of the busy thoroughfare for over an hour as they chanted and held signs opposing immigration detention camps on the border. Dozens were arrested as police tried to clear the street. A large additional group marched from Madison Square Park through Chelsea and met the protesters with songs and music and signs.
