“Oleg the Far-Seeing“ — English subs and translation

It is based on the poem by Aleksandr Pushkin about the meeting of the legendary Russian (Varangian) prince Oleg the Far-Seeing with a wizard and the prediction of his tragic fate - death from a bite of a snake that would crawl out of the skull of a prince’s horse. Despite some anachronism (a combination of pagan Rus’ times with a chorus about the Czar, Fatherland, and Faith), this composition gained wide popularity among the soldiers, and it would be simply impossible to imagine the campaign of the Russian army without it. In this video, the song is performed by the Irkutsk Folk Drama Theater, and an English translation by John Pollen is used with some comments from the author of the channel where the translation is not literal enough.
