PREHISTORIC BONE TOOLS FROM THE SOUTHWEST

Prehistoric bone tools from the Southwest, examining the various forms and functions and the animal species utilized to make the tool. We had the privilege of excavation a site on the Upper Little Colorado River where the soil was almost a perfect ph7. Bone preserved perfectly. This video displays several examples of different bone tools including; awls, flutes, rings, hair pins, and weaving tools. A comparative analysis between the prehistoric material and modern zoological samples is preformed to determine what animal bone was used to make certain unique bone tools.
