Anthony Albanese ‘partly blames’ the media for slide in support for the Voice

Sky News host Sharri Markson says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Thursday seemed to “partly blame” the media for the slide in support of the Yes vote for the Voice. “Most commentators say that he chose an overly ambitious model, that he didn’t properly engage in public consultation, and that he didn’t bother to get bipartisan support,” Ms Markson said. “But – according to Albanese – it’s the media’s fault. “The Yes campaign is already starting to try blame the media for the slide in support.” Ms Markson revealed that she has approached high-profile Yes campaigners such as Noel Pearson and Thomas Mayo to come on Sky News so viewers could hear both sides of the debate, but they either haven’t responded to her invitation or have declined to be on her program.
