Halfway done with Sinderella, and completely done with 2022... This is something to commemorate over two full years making music on YouTube. And what a song to end the year with! Calli’s closing tracks have always been great in a bittersweet kind of way, and this is no exception. Pretty Patterns once again kills it with his production, and Calli’s reminiscence over the lives she could’ve lived is a unique take on the sin of Envy. I wanted this remix to retain the song’s atmosphere, so I tried coming at it from a progressive/post-rock angle. Bands like Soen, Leprous, Haken, Caligula’s Horse, and The Ocean Collective served as inspiration.
