My Ultimate Nautilus Build

7 Years and $7,000 later, my ultimate Nautilus build is complete. (almost) This is a Custom Replicas 66“ Nautilus (Gen. 1) from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Thanks to Scott Brodeen, Jim Key, Mikel Sauve, Bob Martin, Brian Beavis, Will Babington, Steve Neill, Paul Paterson and others for their contributions. This boat is controlled by a Futaba/Vantec 23 channel transmitter. There are 12 servos and lots of LED lighting. The model has custom Iris mechanisms with 4“ LCD displays behind them. The helm turns in sync to the rudder. The main hatch slides and the breathers vents raise and lower. The propeller is solid brass cast. There are 5 sound clips that can be played including ’Whale of a Tale“ song by Ned Land. The atomic counter ticks back and forth. The skiff hand tie down wheels anchors lower and raise. The propeller is proportional controlled.
