Glyph (US) — Remind Us of the Sun — 2022 full length

The first album from this solo project from the US. This project so far has always managed to create some music that does not exactly defy the black metal rules, but does bend them quite a bit. Here happens once again, you have a whole record where the bass leads the melody gracefully, with the guitar also laying some pretty nice riffs. This shared stage is incredibly well done as the clever songwriting is unravelled throughout the record with plenty of catchy moments. I do remember this sort of similar setup on the “King No One” demo. As the previous material, there are also some lo-fi and depressive hints through the emotive and fierce vocals. The percussion keeps also being a strong carrier of the aggression but also is very nicely played, not only fast but changing gears rather easily. This is one of those projects that right from its inception we could foresee that it would be able to deliver the goods, and it does in this lengthier record, through its atypical groovy black metal and
