The First Philippine Republic, also known as the Malolos Republic, is an independent state in the Philippine Islands that declared independence from Spain in 1898. The islands became unincorporated US territories. The anthem of the First Philippine Republic was the patriotic song “Tierra adorado“ (“The Land I Worship“). Its melody is used in the modern Philippine anthem.
